What is demand response?
Shifting electricity consumption in time to match available supply — for example a battery or smart appliance drawing power when generation is plentiful and easing off when it is scarce.
It is a core flexibility that storage assets provide, letting a renewable-heavy grid absorb intermittent generation instead of having to consume every unit the instant it is produced.
