During the block module, knowledge about blockchain in combination with IoT is built up using concrete use cases. The interdisciplinary teams ensure different perspectives on the technologies and use cases. The week is similar to the setup of a Hackathon. The topic for 2025: Energy consumption and energy trading
Blockchain & IoT. How a blockchain actually works — blocks, hash-chaining, consensus and smart contracts — when it is (and isn't) the right tool, the design patterns for real applications, and how on-chain code reaches the physical world through oracles (the bridge to IoT sensors and meters). The applied focus is peer-to-peer energy trading and grid stability.
