What is an obligation (in NPL)?
An action that must be performed by a party before a deadline; if it is not, the runtime automatically executes a fallback state change.
Obligations, along with permissions, form the foundation of deontic logic in NPL. They are managed by an internal transactional task scheduler, making time-based business events (interest payouts, credit checks) predictable and auditable.
