What does PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) mean?

A system of digital certificates and authorities that binds an identity to a public key, so a participant can be reliably identified and admitted.

In a permissioned energy chain, each endpoint registers by obtaining a certificate through a PKI before it can trade — the identity gating that makes the chain both secure and scalable.
