What does MPC (Multi-Party Computation) mean?

A cryptographic technique that splits a secret — such as a private key — across several parties so that no single party ever holds the whole thing, yet together they can use it.

In institution-grade custody it removes the single point of failure of one held key: signing requires cooperation among the parties, so compromising one share is not enough to move funds.
