What is a meta-attribute?
A meta-attribute describes and specifies an attribute, fixing its structure, meaning or purpose within an attribute schema; the three basic ones are attribute name, attribute data type and attribute value.
The standard's example: name "shoe size", type "integer", value "39". Meta-attributes are "data about data" and are what makes attribute exchange between systems consistent, because both sides agree on what a field means before they compare values.
