What is a claim?
A claim is a statement about a property of a subject; confirmed by an IdP or issuer it becomes an attribute assertion, and in SSI a claim is a subject-attribute-value triple that can be linked with others into a graph.
Synonyms: Aussage, Behauptung. The word signals that the statement is asserted, not necessarily verified: a claim "age over 18" only becomes trustworthy once someone the verifier trusts has signed it.
