Recall the ten Major-System pegs for 60–69 — the /sh/–/ch/–/j/ decade. Can you name all ten in order and picture a story that links them?

Every 60s peg starts with a soft /sh/, /ch/, /j/ or soft-g sound (6); the second sound is the unit digit (0–9), so 60 = sh·s = cheese, 61 = sh·t = shit, and so on.

60 cheese · 61 shit · 62 chin · 63 gem · 64 jar · 65 shell · 66 judge · 67 chick · 68 chef · 69 ship

Picture story (follow the scenes):

60 cheese, 61 shit A giant wedge of Swiss cheese next to a comical cartoon pile of poop.

62 chin, 63 gem A man with a huge exaggerated jutting chin admiring a big sparkling blue gem.

64 jar, 65 shell A glass jar filled with iridescent spiral seashells.

66 judge, 67 chick A stern judge in a wig banging a gavel next to a fluffy yellow chick.

68 chef, 69 ship A jolly chef in a white hat cooking on the deck of a sailing ship.

Make your own if this one doesn't stick.
